How to Measure Child Poverty?
UNICEF
About
This online course has been designed to prepare personnel at National Statistical Offices (NSO) and Statistics/M&E Offices within line ministries to estimate Child Poverty.
Its main aim is that civil servants develop Child Poverty reports in-country, which can strategically inform further policymaking, and be reported to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) database.
My role
Learning Designer & Course Developer
I led the learning design process along with Unicef’s subject matter experts on Child Poverty Measurement. This included conducting a needs analysis and eliciting tacit knowledge from previous in-person training to develop an online experience.
In addition, I developed all multimedia material including interactive lessons, videos, actionable tools, activities and content modules.
Designing an Actionable Tool
The richness of the online experience derived from the development of an actionable tool to estimate Child Poverty and develop a Child Poverty Profile.
I designed, along with technical experts, this actionable tool that includes a guided tutorial, a working template and a practical exercise for learners to put into action the foundational concepts of the course.
